6 days in Stockholm

What would be a good itinerary for 6 days in Stockholm, in May. We are in our 60's, like to walk and see scenery.
Thanks

Don't miss the Vasa museum and Skansen.

I agree with SambaChula, and strongly encourage you to get a good guidebook or two. The cost will be nugatory in comparison to the cost of your trip, and you will learn things you don't even know to ask.

Stockholm is delightful. Enjoy!

In addition to the Vasa Museum and Skansen, the same island is home to the ABBA Museum, which is also worth a visit. (You could combine Vasa and ABBA on the same day.) I also recommend a day at the Drottningholm Palace (you can take a boat there, with the option to eat on the boat or at the Palace). And also a trip to at least one island in the Archipelago and a visit to the Stockholm City Hall is a must. This building hosts the Nobel Prize Banquet, so it's spectacular...not a typical city hall at all. We spent a week in Stockholm and could have spent longer.

Also on Djurgarden we enjoyed Rosendals Garden and Cafe and the Prins Eugene Waldemarsudde museum. Spend some time on the Stockholm Metro as many of the stations are nothing short of astounding. Unfortunately the national museum is closed for renovation, but some exhibits can be seen offsite - check their website for details.
A relatively small but lively food hall is Ostermalms Saluhall and our lunch at Lisa Elmqvist was memorable.

I spent several enjoyable days in Stockholm in 2015. For my TR, start here (links at the top of the page):

Östermalms Saluhall is closed for renovations and will reopen April 2018. There is a temporary food hall at Östermalmstorg.

We enjoyed the boat ride out to Drottingholm Pslace where the Royal family lives.
One day we took a small ferry out to the island Fjadarholmarna for a seafood lunch, a special experience.
The City Hall tour should not be missed! It is unique and a treat to tour.
