4 weeks in Milan/Como area?

We are a family of 5 (children aged 5, 3, 1 years), and I have a 4 week stint of work in Milano lined up for March, 2003. We are looking for accommodation for this period in a pleasant, affordable, accessible (train-transport), and safe area. We would obviously be doing weekend or long-weekend trips, but during the week would be staying put. My wife would like a villa or apartment that is close to amenities, and has a few local attractions for the kids. I plan to travel each day into Milano by train. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?
Thankyou.

The area around Milano is not the kind of tourist area whjere you can easily find apartments for rent for such short periods (and no villas anywhere!!!). You should check out a residence in Milano, there are several that might match your needs.

http://milano.toitaly.net/eng/

This terrific web site was "unearthed" again here in the past 24 hours. The American family, living in Milan, who created it (specifically the Dad), is very friendly and will most likely answer e-mail inquiries from you directly.

I would think that this might be an invaluable asset to have advice from someone on the ground like the Hostetler family.

Especially good for their listings of events and festivals.

Best wishes,

Rex
Let's talk about it in mail. Write me at [email protected]. Anyhow, after just a brief look at it, I find it poor from the graphics point of view, but with interesting contents.
