4 hours to spend around Venice Airport.

Hi all,

I will be landing in Venice airport at 16h30 while my boyfriend only lands at 20h45. So I am looking for a good way to spend the time in between.

I have a rental car at my disposal (working in Ferrara at the moment), and don't want to go into Venice just yet, as it's too much hastle with the car to get in and out or go via Mestre, and public transport is too expensive for just being in Venice a few hours. Besides, I have been there a few times before and we will spend the night in Venice.

So can you make me any suggestions on where to go near Venice airport by car for just a few hours? Is Treviso worth going? Any beach resorts nearby where I can go for a stroll (doubt that beginning October will still be beach weather). A nice villa that can be visited? Any ideas welcome!

Thank you,
Michele

Hi Michele - Treviso is one of the nicest towns in Veneto IMO. Definitely worth going

Hello Michelle, I too was thinking of Treviso while reading your post.

How fortunate you are to be living in Ferrara!

Hi Steve_James and LoveItaly,

Seems like Treviso it will be! Thanks for your replies.

LoveItaly, Ferrara is a lovely town indeed. Too bad we make such long working days most of the time, so not much time to enjoy it on weekdays. But luckily my company lets my boyfriend come over instead of me going home sometimes

Hi again Michele, I have a friend who lives in the Region of Veneto who was born and raised in Ferrara. He and his wife and I went there for some days a few years ago. You can imagine what a delightful time I had with my friend being a native son! I have fond memories of my time there.

Enjoy Treviso, it is about 30 minutes north of the Marco Polo airport. And have a wonderful time with your boyfriend.
