Kudos for taking such a positive and constructive stance in response to our input. Your extra days will, I'm sure, be treasured.

For information about how to get around, consult rome2rio.com and be sure to check through to the underlying links.

Best wishes!

I very much appreciate the constructive comments and useful details that many have provided. I asked for feedback and have been open to all of it.

I extended my trip by 3 more days. I have 9 nights. The first is Monday and yeah - it's definitely a full travel day. I think I'm actually going to book a nice Airbnb in Prianno and make that my base. 4 nights in AC, 1 or 2 in Rome (I'm perfectly fine with a whirlwind trip in Rome) and the train to Rome makes sense. Then I'll have 3 nights in Paris. Yup - shorter than some would even consider but the wife and I are ok with a bit more of a frenetic pace for this trip.

I'm going to be working on locking down flights and longer stays ASAP and I look forward to getting into more details in AC, Rome and Paris. I've been to Paris a couple times but the wife hasn't. Eiffel at night and a day trip to Versailles are the current top considerations....

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. It has been incredibly helpful.
Yes, good on you for taking on these comments in stride. They are all meant to help, as you know. With 3 nights in Paris, I'm going to chime in to suggest that, unless Versailles is just one of those must-do things, skip it and spend that short time in Paris. There is more to experience in that city than most of us will ever do. Remember, 3 nights is really two days. Stroll the Seine, visit the MANY cool churches/museums/monuments/gardens, explore a neighborhood. I have been to Paris a handful of times and still have not been to Versailles, but of course we all have our preferences! Have a great trip!

I don't think I'd want to spend them all in Rome... but I don't want to miss it entirely.
I'll mull this all over and simplify a bit.
I was in Rome for 5 days (6 nights) in April and barely scratched the surface. If you want to see anything worth seeing, you would need tickets way in advance or you may have to stand in line for awhile. (Not fun in the heat.)

I guess I, like several others here, don't get the point of going to these ancient cities and not actually spending at least a few days exploring them.
I suggest you find one place where you can chill out at least for a few days. Maybe a vineyard in Tuscany? Check out https://www.agriturismo.it/

Good luck.
