3 Travel Days in Ireland

Are there any motorcoach tours or is driving the only way to get around? How are the roads? We arrive on:
Thurs.aft.- Shannon/Limerick
Fri. - N. to Cliffs of Moher, Doolin then S.
to Adare
Sat.Sun - Dingle - then should we visit the Ring of Kerry or go to Killarney, Blarney and return to Shannon Sun. early eve?

Is that doable in 3 days? If not what would be?

Is an International driver's license required?
Thanks

Jessica,
A few changes and a car make this doable.
Thurs: head right to cliffs and overnight in Doolin (about one hour from Shannon)
friday: head to dingle via coast road and car ferry at Kirush
Sat ingle
sunday:return to Shannon
No international drivers license required. If this trip is to take place in July or August suggest reservations now!

I agree with Jean, head right to the cliffs, we did that our first day, very close and great scenary. Forget Limerick, it's not worth the time.

The roads are small and narrow in some places (the road to doolin for instance), but driving is no problem there at all.

If you're going to drive rent an automatic transmission, no doubt. The roads will be, at times, as narrow as a single car driveway.... but with a large truck coming from the opposite direction. Drive times will take at least twice as long as you would think. If the Cliffs are fogged in, skip them and go on with the rest of your trip. Make reservations. If you want to go on bus tours, there are tons of web sites describing them. Have a great trip.

Thanks for the replies - sounds like a plan. Any particular car rental better than the other?

We headed straight to the Clifs and Doolin from Shannon and was so very glad! Be sure to include Conor Pass and Slea Head Drive in while you're driving the Dingle Peninsula. Beautiful scenery! Also, make sure your rental car is covered at 100% as you are responible for anything that happens to it, whether you do it or another car does. We had to pay for a cracked windshield done by a flipped stone from another car.
