3 day itinerary to London

I have to chance to go to London for a few days in April. I will depart from JFK NY on 3/31 and arrive to Heathrow on 4/1 at 10:25am then will leave Heathrow on 4/3 6:30pm.
Can someone give me a good itinerary for the 3 days I will stay? This will be my first time there so anything is new and interesting to me.

Thanks

Please ket us know your interests! Do u like museums, galleries, castles, churches, food and drink- there's so much we could suggest you need to narrow this down.

unless you have specialised interests (which it appears you just want new and interesting) then the best thing to do would be to walk around the main tourist areas of central london (eg trafalgar covent garden, buckingham palace, london eye, chinatown etc). with free museums you can just stick your head in for a quick flavour (rec. national gallery and british museum - courtyard).

you only have one full day and the time will fly. just get a book and tick off the main sites...unfortunately that's all you have time for....unless of course, you have special interests...just tell us what they are and we can help.

Lots of good info here

You may want to do the hop on/off bus tour first thing to at least pass by the major sites and get your bearings.

There are a million great things to see and do in London. As others have said, it depends on your interests.

However, of the "main touristy spots" that we visited, we particularly liked the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey - really thought they should not be missed.

Also allow time for walking around, you can see a lot that way. Buckingham Palace through St. James Park up to Trafalgar Square, down past Whitehall to Big Ben/Parliament is a nice walk that allows you to see a lot. You could also walk across bridge from Big Ben and London Eye is right there.

Those are just a few thoughts that come to mind. Also, maybe a show (not first night - too tiring with jet lag), time around Covent Garden, or even walking around Chelsea/Knightsbridge.

Hope that helps get you started. But, we will need a little more info to finetune.

Happy travels.

As the others say - there are hundreds of possibilities but w/o knowing what you like it is hard to give you any sort of itinerary.

But if you click on "destinations" you will find a good basic London itinerary. Since you only have one full and two 1/2 days, you'll have to pare it down. But at least it will get you started. And don't count on doing a lot on the 1st. You may be quite jet lagged and won't get to your hotel until about 1 p.m.
