24 hours in Amsterdan

I'm spending 24 hours in Amsterdan on September 2nd and I would like to know what are the most important things to see there and how can I take the most advantage of this time. Is there a Hard Rock Cafe there?

Amsterdam is a wonderful city. If you only have 24 hours I wouldn't waste it on a Hard Rock Cafe, unless you are just picking up a tshirt. Fortunately, the city is very walkable, so you can maximize your time very easily. Some very important things to see are the Anne Frank House on Prinsengracht as well as the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum. A good introduction to the city is a canal ride. It gives you a great overview of the city. Of course, no trip to Amsterdam is complete without a visit to the red light district. It is quite unique. DO NOT TAKE ANY PHOTOS THERE! Your camera will be taken and the film ripped out. The city is beautiful and quite safe. You will definitely want to go back for a longer stay. Have fun.

Hello,
I too spent 24 hours in Amsterdam. There is plenty to do and see in the middle of the city. I went there with no plans and came back with lots of memories.

there are at least two HRC's in A'dam
one near the Leidseplein & one by the
redlight,I wouldn't recommend either as
you can do better.Rick's bar, beside the
redlight HRC is very good & has a good
legal cannabis shop in the juicebar at the back.(illegal to sell it in the
alcohol part of the bar but legal to smoke there)

I spent less than 24 hours in Amsterdam (got stuck there by a cancelled flight). Take in a museum, and walk around the center of the city (Leidseplein). Oh, and be sure to eat some Indonesian food.
