Thanks so much for your replys, especially the Links from Iris. Was afraid I was over doing it. Now I can begin to plan. Is there a train station in GDC or do we have to travel
to Paris? Am planning on taking a train to the Champagne area, renting a car for a few days, returning the car in Champagne then taking the train to Alsace renting a car for that area, train to Burgundy renting a car there for a few days, returning it and then train to Paris orrrrr would I be better just renting in Alsace and turning the car in Burgundy?
Thanks so much for your help, can't get these answers in a Travel guide.

What is GDC? Do you mean CDG? As in the airport Charles de Gaulle?
I don't understand why you would rent two cars when you could rent one and just drive it from the Champagne area to Alsace. I don't think there are direct train connections to Champagne from CDG, but perhaps there are direct trains to Strasbourg from the airport (you can check that on www.voyages-sncf.com), in which case you could reverse your trip and start out in the Alsace region and then make your way back to Paris through the Champagne region.

Like others have stated - rent 1 car. Alsace to Burgundy is not that far. Stop in Besancon along the way to break up the drive - if you're not ding the drive on a Sunday or Monday morning before 2PM.
