2 Weeks in France in late Sept., early Oct.

Is 2 weeks enough time to visit the Champagne, Alsace, and Burgundy areas?

Hi M,

Probably, if you plan it well.

Thanks so much for your replys, especially the Links from Iris. Was afraid I was over doing it. Now I can begin to plan. Is there a train station in GDC or do we have to travel
to Paris? Am planning on taking a train to the Champagne area, renting a car for a few days, returning the car in Champagne then taking the train to Alsace renting a car for that area, train to Burgundy renting a car there for a few days, returning it and then train to Paris orrrrr would I be better just renting in Alsace and turning the car in Burgundy?
Thanks so much for your help, can't get these answers in a Travel guide.

Hi. As Ira said,'plan it well'. But rent a car for the duration of the trip. When you plan your route, you will find many towns to visit on your way to a new destination.

What is GDC? Do you mean CDG? As in the airport Charles de Gaulle?

I don't understand why you would rent two cars when you could rent one and just drive it from the Champagne area to Alsace. I don't think there are direct train connections to Champagne from CDG, but perhaps there are direct trains to Strasbourg from the airport (you can check that on www.voyages-sncf.com), in which case you could reverse your trip and start out in the Alsace region and then make your way back to Paris through the Champagne region.

Like others have stated - rent 1 car. Alsace to Burgundy is not that far. Stop in Besancon along the way to break up the drive - if you're not ding the drive on a Sunday or Monday morning before 2PM.

Last time we were in that area, we rented a car at CDG, spent the night at the Chateau de Fere, then a night in Nancy, passing through Epernay, on the way to Alsace.
