2 Night Excursion From Paris?

Going to Paris for four days after a couple of Central Europe stops. We have two days extra before we fly back home. Trying to think of a good two day, two night driving trip. Loire is one obvious choice (I have never been), but I am also thinking of Bruges, and Reims and/ or Burgundy (though I've been to Beaune and Burgundy). Is it possible to do Bruges and the Loire Valley for one night each? Please note that I have a 1 pm flight out of CDG, and I would like to return the rental car directly to the airport, probably by about 10:30 am. Any comments or other suggestions?

Thank you.

Hi F,

You have become so tired of Paris that you wish to travel to another venue?

You have already been on daytrips to Giverny, Malmaison, Versailles, Chartres, Auvers-sur-Oise, Auxerre. Nancy, Strasbourg, Dijon?

You have seen everything that Paris has to offer?

I would definitely consider the Loire and the various chateaux..you could easily do several in that timeframe...no reason not to make the most of your trip and see more than just Paris...a different perspective is always good.

EITHER Bruges or the Loire would make a good choice but I would not think both - too far apart, alot your time would be spent in travel.

Any of those destinations would be good for 2 days, but one day in the Loire and one in Bruges would not be a reasonable choice.

Thank you for the replies. Still figuring it out, but it does seem that trying to do Bruges and the Loire does not make sense.

Ira, I definitely have not been to all of those of those places, so thank you for the ideas; you have given me some choices to think about.

Hi Fish -

Are you really sure that you want to drive? There are some really great non-driving options for you. You could take days trips to Giverny to see Monet's lovely garden and house and the palace at Versailles. If you've never been to London, it's a really fun city to explore. The Eurostar train between Paris and London only takes 2 1/2 hours.

Yes, I have been to London many times. I decided to do two days in the Loire. Staying in Amboise or Chenonceaux. Thanks for the help everyone.

Does anybody have any experience with La Rosairie or Le Manoir Des Minimes?
