2 Milan Hotels near Duomo

2 Milan Hotels near Duomo
Has anyone stayed in either the HOTEL DUCA DI YORK or the GRITTI in Milan? I want to be close to the Duomo, can't afford the Grand Hotel Duomo, and wonder which of these two is the better choice? Also, which is closer to the Metro?

Stayed at Hotel Gran Duca di York twice about four years ago. It was close to the duomo and was quite comfortable and reasonable. We'd stay there again and have recommended it to others.

Logan, we stayed at the Antica Locanda dei Mercanti just a couple blocks from the Duomo. Found it though Fodor's Inns of Charm in Italy. Paid about $110/night for 2 pp 2 beds last May- and the beds were the most comfortable of our 3 week trip. Excellent, helpful staff. Great, quiet location.
