2 days on Lake Como
We will be in a hotel in Laglio, Italy for two nights. We will have two full days on Lake Como. We are renting a boat one day and are looking at activities for the second day. We are traveling with our four children ages 18-11 so the more entertaining and adventurous the better. We will be doing Milan, Venice, etc during the rest of the trip. We are looking for something in the mountains--Switzerland, maybe? Any suggestions appreciated!

You could go by boat to Varenna and take train to drive to Tirano, jumping off place for trains or roads to the Bernina Pass and a land of glaciers - lovely walks -get off at summit stations and walk -turn around head home.

All will depend on the period you travel.
In summer, there are tons of possibilities, for example:
There are stunning panoramic hiking trails leading to Switzerland (Monte Generoso cog wheel railway station) starting just at Laglio.
If you are looking for snow and ice, take a bus from Laglio to Colico and change there
either to the train for Tirano, the Red train for Bernina Diavolezza and the gondola to Diavolezza (in the Bernina glacier area)
or to the train for Chiavenna, the Swiss Post Bus to Silvapana Surlej and the gondola to Piz Corvatsch.

You may be interested in Swissminiatur and the Tamaro Park, both close to Lugano

Will you be driving thru Italy? If just going to cities re-think the car but if leisurely driving between them and stopping cars are great but still can't even enter city centres in most larger cities like Milan, Florence, Rome, etc - even if staying in hotel in center you can only drive to hotel unload and drive out of ZTLs as they are called I believe and park car well away from hotel (leave nothing of value in car).
Lake Garda makes a great stop en route to Venice - Sirmione nice old town but crowded but some good beaches easily accessible by car for a brief stop. GardaLand is a primo Italian theme park too.
