Hi lyceemoliere,
I love the Lake Geneva region though I've only stayed in Geneva itself once. I usually stay in Montreux, on the eastern side of the lake.
Here are some ideas for activities in the area. These are based from Montreux, but you can do all of them from anywhere on the lake.
Montreux old town

Lavaux

Promenade Fleuri

Morges

Gruyeres

I'll also add that you can rent bicycles at most train stations, and some of the above activites are really fun on a bike -- like the Lavaux and the Flowered Promenade.
Also, your teens may enjoy a trip into the castle of Chillon (www.chillon.ch) and also maybe the military museum in the castle in Morges.
Have fun!

On a Swiss Pass we caught ferries all over the Alpine end of the Lake. [We'd previously stayed in Geneva, but this trip we stayed in Aigle in the Rhone Valley.] We spent time in Vevey and Lausanne, but there were many other stops. We actually did a circle from Vevey, and then another ferry to Lausanne, and caught the train back to Aigle - all on the Swiss Pass of course.
