2-3 Star Hotels in Beaune?

Visiting area begining of October and looking for info. on accom. in this price range.
Should one book ahead or is it possible to wait until we arrive to choose our hotel or is this a busy time period?
Thanks for your advice.

Good morning, Roy, We stopped for lunch at a beautiful hotel called St.Christophe. The escargots were delicious. The lobby and dining areas were old world looking. I suspect Beaune is always busy.

Roy,

Karen Brown's website has some wonderful listings. www.karenbrown.com

If that's not enough, here's a few ideas:

Hotel de la Poste - Beaune
Hostellerie de Levernois - Beaune
La Cote d'Or - Saulieu (just outside of Beaune)
Lameloise - Chagny (just outside of Beaune)
Chateau de Chorey les Beaune - (just north of Beaune)
Hotel de la Cloche - Beaune

These next two suggestions might be a bit more pricey than what you're looking for but who knows, they might have some standard rooms available.

Chateau de Gilly - Vougeot (just north of Beaune)
Hotel le Cep - Beaune

This should keep you busy. Most, if not all, of these hotels have websites so just go to Yahoo and enter the name.

Good luck!

Robin,

Maybe it's a typo that the search engine doesn't like: it's Burgundy, not Burgandy.

Roy,

There's very useful booking web site for hotels in France. What you have to do is to type the city name in the box, and the site will come up with a list of hotels, many with pictures, and reviews of other travelers. I hope you find what you want there:

http://digital.france.com/hotels/index.html

Good luck,

Surlok
