1st class seating options/TGV Avignon-Paris
I'm in the process of booking PREM fares on the sncf website from Avignon to Paris. The first class fares are only slightly higher than second class. Does anyone know what "club four" and "lounge" mean in terms of seating options? Also, I'm assuming its preferable to reserve the upper deck, correct? Thanks in advance for your assistance!

And here is that answer..at least as to Club Four: (from MorganB)
Club 4 is seated around a table, two seats on each side, facing each other. Nice for conversation if there are 4 of you but not ideal for two people because you have two strangers with you. You also share leg room with the people across from you.

Lounge seating is at the end of a car in a seperate room and is a little room with about 10 seats in a U shape. To be avoided at all costs IMHO. Lounge seating is typically only on the TGV lines to Britanny and Bordeaux. I have never seen it out of Gare de Lyon.

Morgan, we will be taking the same route after "trying to sleep" on a night flight from NYC. I know I won't be able to sleep very well on the plane. I am hoping I can take a couple hours nap on the train so we get to Avignon I will be able to stay up until normal bedtime that night. You stated in one of your posts that the upper deck is sunnier and lots of foot traffic to the snack area and the lower deck is quieter/darker and not much foot traffic. What would you suggest for the best location in 1st class to be as quiet and private for two people (as possible) to get in a good nap?
Thanks for your help.
