The best connected airport with Barcelona is Malaga.
Malaga province has lots of beach places, now dependig in what you want,
active, sport related, night life,
quiet, luxury, budget...
Good questions will get good answers

At the End of May your best weather bet is South, Malaga.
The "Costa Brava" , coast area near Barcelona and Mallorca can be windy and uncomfortable, it is a matter of chance.
Price wise of course to stay in Barcelona or around will be cheaper than to fly to Mallorca or Malaga.
If is your fisrt time in Spain I think that going to Malaga will give a different part of the country to visit.

Ibiza is something else. I LOVE it. My DH would not step foot anywhere near it.
I implore you to really read up on it...even get some internet pictures of Ibiza and its nightlife, beache activity etc. before you just go...
