10 days in Scotland

Hi all,

I'm trying to plan a 10 day tour of Scotland for my husband and I (late 20's) and am having trouble figuring our logistics of driving routes and which places to stay. We're going to start in Edinburgh (arriving from York) around the 12 June. Would like about 3-4 days here to explore the city and do a day trip or two (current thoughts include Rosslyn Chapel, Melrose and Jedburgh Abbeys, St Andrews, Linlithgow - obviously not all). We'd then like to do some stuff around the highlands for about 2 nights (I had originally thought Inverness for 2 days with a trip to Dunrobin castle and Loch Ness but can be persuaded to visit elsewhere if there are better places worth exploring around that area). Following this we'd like to move on to the Isle of Skye for another 2 nights, and then to Glasgow for 2 more nights before heading to London.

I'd appreciate any thoughts and tips on how we can best plan our trip!

Cheers,
Cass

Cass, let me recommend that you just keep to one thread in order to keep people from repeating themselves or making the situation too confusing.

Yes -- If I were you, I'd post this additional question to your original thread because everything/everyplace in your itinerary has to fit together . . . I still think you don't have time to do the loop you plan. As I posted on that thread -- fly from arrival in London straight up to Inverness, maybe visit Dunrobin, then Skye etc - ending in Edinburgh then either trains or drive to York > Cardiff > London.
