1 - 1 1/2 days in Turkey
We are on a Mediterranean cruise. We have 1 - 1/2 days in Turkey. I really would like to see the Spice Market and take a ride on the Bosphorous and see Beylerbeyi Palace or Dolmabahçe Palace. I would also like to see the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Going to a Turkish bath would be a plus. Would love to know how to do it and if there's anything I am missing and need to see.
Thank you!!
Thank you!!

Well, of course there is a GREAT deal you are missing, but you can do at least some of the things that top your list. You should certainly be able tho visit the Spice Market, Blue Mosque, and Hagia Sophia. You might consider taking a ride on the Golden Horn rather than the Bosphorus. And you might consider visiting the Topkapi Palace rather than the Beylerbeyi or Dolmanbahce Palaces. Your call!

I visited Topkapi and Dalmanbahce, but not Beylerbeyi.
Topkapi Palace is Ottoman in style and is, I believe, unlike anything else in Europe (and maybe anywhere). Dolmanbahce is Baroque and similar to many palaces of that era elsewhere in Europe. Beylerbeyi is also Baroque and also similar to other European palaces of the era.
If you google them, you'll get a wealth of information. Or you might consider getting, or consulting, a good guidebook.

We visited the Topkapi Palace the first time we were in Istanbul, as kja says its one of a kind, I haven't seen anything similar in all my quite extensive travels. We went back to Turkey last June when we visited Dolmabache, I did like it very much but it is like many other baroque palaces you see in Europe. In fact, it was built because the sultan thought the Topkapi was rather too old and he wanted something like the other European palaces, I think that says it all. With your limited time I'd visit the Topkapi and harem, keep the rest for another trip...
