We've sailed Princess and RCCL and both would warrant praise for "good service". You'll find that that phrase has different meanings for different people. For us, it means a crew and staff that makes us feal both welcome and special - from the cabin steward to the Pursers Desk. From the dining room waiter to the bartenders. We would give the overall edge to Princess but either are wonderfull cruiselines. Friends of ours would echo the same for Celebrity and Holland America. The only negative comments we've heard in our circles come from Carnival.

We did the Southern with RCCL and found Aruba and Curaccao (can never spell that island) delightfull.

Have sailed the Southern Caribbean with NCL, RCCL, and Celebrity. Had a good time on all of them, but Celebrity was a notch above the others in food and service and class.

I have no idea how old you are--but my choice after 25 years of cruising is this: CELEBRITY's southern caribbean is wonderful--ALL their ships are great.
THe same parent company owns RCL but CELEBRITY is NOTCHES above in both food, ship, service etc.

Another good one is Princess-on the GRAND PRINCESS-

If money is no object, then I would do
RADISSON or CRYSTAL--both have incomparable service, rooms are gorgeous, public areas are beautiful.

If you are recently married,am I to assume this is a belated honeymoon? If so,make sure you get a room with a balcony on whichever ship you choose.Private-you can have breakfast on veranda-and at nite can sit alone and watch the stars.

I have been asked this same question many, many times by friends who know that we have been on MANY cruises. Celebrity is the top choice for first-class ammenities and service. However, the crowd is old and not as anxious to party down. Norweigan had terrible food. Carnival's ships are older and not exactly 5-star accomodations, but their parties are better. A more informal crowd; down side being there are alot more small children (yuk) I do not go on vacation to hear someones' brats screaming at the dinner table. Consider the ports.....some are dumps. We enjoyed the key west-Cozumel-grand cayman - Jamaica cruise intinerary the best.

I have found the best cruise line was the Celebrity. They had excellent entertainment, very very friendy crew.and good food. The RCL was very good to. I will give Thumbs down to the Princess. Been on it Twice within the last year and will not go again. It was not a fun ship more like a cemetry.

"The best" is so subjective. that is why there are so many different cruise lines, because there are so many different types of cruisers. My favorite is Holland America. I like their elegance and class. At the other end, I found Carnival to be like going to a noisy frat party. Ask another cruiser, and he might say that Holland america is boring, and Carnival the height of fun. NCL is a good line if you like sports bars. HAL, Princess, and Celebrity might be more your style if you would rather go to afternoon tea. Carnival is better if you think it's fun to go to Hooters. Hey, that's the reason there aree so many different kinds of bars, too. There's room in the market to meet all kinds of needs!

Subjective all the way. All depends on what you want. If you want a sedate cruise try Princess, Celebrity or HAL. If you want a more lively cruise choose RCI or Carnival.
