Western Caribbean Excursions --- HELP!
We are sailing on the Norway, Western Caribbean Jazz Cruise on 10/23. We just received our sheet of excursions & are overwhelmed. What would you suggest? Go to the Mayan ruins in Cozumeleven if we have a 3 hour bus ride to get there? Which beaches are good? What about Ocho Rios, Jamaica? Any and all advice will be helpful. Thanks! <BR>

The Mayan Ruins at Tulum are awesome, and right on a beautiful beach. But, it could be very hot and humid and not as much fun as snorkeling at Chakanab. Cozumel has some of the best snorkeling in the world! In Jamaica, I would definitely go for the shore excursion to Dunn's Falls. Jamaica is not a place you want to go off on your own. You didn't mention Grand Cayman -- but if you are going there, you can take a cab to the beach at Cemetery Reef and have some wonderful beach time on the famous Seve Mile Beach. All the beaches in Cayman are public and free.

I would recommend going to Dunn's River Falls when your in Ocho Rios. It's a lot of fun! If you stop at Grand Caymen go to Seven Mile Beach. I've been to Hawaii four times, Mexico twice and a few Caribbean Islands I have never seen a more gorgeous beach. I could have spent days there. If you like to snorkel take the excursion in Cozumel, its worth it.

In Jamaica, Dunn's River Falls is a must and bring a Waterproof Camera and Wet Socks plus there's a nice Crafts Market outside the exit but be prepared for the "Jamaican Sales Pitch" . If you're going to Grand Cayman, then Stingray City Snorkeling is an unforgetable swim with stingrays that you will talk about for years. In Cozumel I'd do either the Tulum Ruins or the 1/2 day snorkeling(excursion), 1/2 day shopping/exploring the city(on your own). It's a tough choice, both are great, so do what appeals to you. We live in Florida so beaches are not out first choice but 7 mile beach in Grand Cayman will be the best beach on your cruise. Have A Ball!!
