I'm glad I read through these posts. The numerous brochures I get each week from Vantage will be deposited in the trash.

There was a complaint in the latest issue of CN Traveler about OAT. It seems that they promised a customer a business class air upgrade for $2100.00 and also promised that if she pays in full that no future increases will be assessed. This customer did that. Then later OAT tried to add on another $2400.00! for the business class upgrade by claiming that the pay in full prepurchase deal did not apply to air fare despite this not being written anywhere. Finally they decided to eat the $2400.00 but only after CN Traveler intervened. They had refused despite numerous attempts by the customer prior to her resorting to ombudsman in the mag.

Don't toss those beautiful glossy catalogs. Vantage puts out one of the best and their pictures interspersed with your own photos is something to keep them for.

I'm sure everyone who takes a particular tour has to rave about how great it is or wouldn't they look pretty stupid? especially if they were to continue touring with that company.

Do your own research everyone and hope for the best.
Even good companies have bad days and bad experiences.
