Is Regent worth the price? A hotelier's take
Anyone thinking of trading up to luxury line Regent Seven Seas Cruises should read hotelier David Brudney's story posted today at:

Actually this article endorses the upscale experience on Regent. See his quote:
"To be sure, the Regent Seven Seas Cruise (luxury) was more expensive than the cruise line (premium) I booked to Alaska - more than twice as much - but the value for Karen and me was more than 10 times greater. As in the hotel business, you do get and expect what you pay for."
Clearly the author of this article thinks is worth the extra cost so the answer is yes.

BTW thanks for the link to this article. Regent is quite expensive but it does show how some value that extra touch and superior service. I think most people would pay more for superior CS, w/i their means of course.

I agree jacketwatch. We still have fun on the larger ships with friends and family but to me, there's NO COMPARISON...I'll take the smaller luxury lines any day and think they're worth every penny!

Does the age of other passengers make a big difference to you?

Dukey, do you mean like the HAL
line which skews to the more mature
set?

For me, NO as the line offers more
of an upscale experience w/o the
price tag and no matter how they try
to change their image, there are
fewer kids aboard in the non-summer months. that is a big plus.
