Uniworld Cuise line

Has anyone had experience with Uniworld on a European River Cruise?

Did Uniworld's RIVERQUEEN, from Vienna to Amsterdam in mid-Oct. for 13 days. Weather cooperated, boat and service was excellent, all excursions were included, rooms were tastefully decorated. <BR> <BR>Travelled the Danube (going thru 60 locks), the Main, and the Rhine (passing by 40 castles). <BR> <BR>Enjoy!

I'm interested in river cruising and recently received a brochure from Uniworld. My biggest question is this - do you really have to dress for dinner? The brochure has pictures of men in suits and women in formal dress with jewels and the whole bit. Not our idea of vacation so we may have to start looking elsewhere. Thanks for any info in this area.

Since Uniworld has a majority of seniors as customers they do tend to dress well for dinner but never during the day.<BR><BR>Paul

Hi!<BR>We did the Uniworld cruise from Amsterdam to Switzerland and nobody on our ship dressed up[gowns, jewels etc]Most had CASUAL dresses, skirts and pant suits for the ladies and men, shirt and pants.Very few had suits on every night. It is known as a casual cruise.<BR>Lots of walking on some of the tours but you can go and walk on your own and meet up with group later.

I also just returned from Uniworld on from Amsterdam to Switzerland on the Rhine and Moselle. Perhaps due to the heat wave, the &quot;dress&quot; pants and blouses I took stayed in the suitcase, as well as the cocktail dress I took for Captain's Dinner. Men wore khakis with an aloha shirt for dinner, I wore T-shirts &amp; jeans mostly, or a tropical print casual dress, and a long cotton print dress for Captain's Dinner.

It was casual, the route, the crew and the wine wonderful, and especially great were the city of Trier (for the roman ruins) and the castles on the Rhine.

Food was good, cabins were smaller than I anticipated but otherwise good. I will cruise with them again.
