Thanks for all ur replies so far .as mentioned before ,the HAL was full by the time i got to booking after reading ur reply so I booked sapphire princess..well .atleast will see college fjords and Glacier bay both even if hardly any time in alaska.

How different is kenai fjords and college fjords glacier by cruise?

I will reach anchorage at 11:30 pm on friday night and have cruise from whittier 23 june on saturday night..so just 24 hrs in anchoarge ..how shd I spend my time best so that I see something which I wont see while on cruise.

If I take alaska railroad early am fron anchorage to seward(as u said..its spectacular journey) I can do kenai tour from 11 30 to 5 30 pm but leaves me only 2.5 hrs to reach whittier my ship which leaves from whittier..as it leaves at 9;30 and I assume I shd be there by 8 pm..

Also if u think that college fjord/glacier bay will give me similar exp as kenai fjords I can miss it and do smthing else in am and then go to whittier in the afternoon.

thanks a lot for all ur help..u are a blessing ..
reg transfer from anchorage to whittier aand seward to whittier..

Seward will have to wait until your next trip. The difference between Prince William Sound and Kenai Fjords, is more glaciers, calmer seas out of Whittier. More varied wildlife out of Seward, rougher sailing.

Thanks again for quick reply . I called a cab and they said they would pick me up at kenai flords tours location at 5:30 and we can reach the whittier harbor by 8 pm easily.(will cross tunnel at 7:30 pm opening).it seems expensive at $225 but I wll do it if Kenai fjords is really worth it and offers different glacier views other than from cruise..
What do u think..fom ur experience do u have any idea if the passengers show up at 9 pm for a 9:30 pm departure?

Why not just rent a one way car, Anchorage/Whittier, with Avis?? Then drive yourself directly to Whittier. You do have to be on your ship 1 hour prior to sailing.

My opinion only, you really don't have enough time for this.
