Spring Break on Fascination

We have a cruise booked on Fascination 3/11 but am getting a bit nervous as people now tell me that is a bad choice at spring break. Is it okay? We want lots to do and see, some relaxation and good food and service. Will it be too wild of entertainment with crude jokes and language or just the norm? I don't mind that a lot of families will be there if the children aren't completely wild and I doubt they will be. Hope someone will make me feel better than I do right now!

Katie: Your ok. Facination is a very island intensive cruise. your days will definatly be full. as to evenings the ship will have a great show every night, (don't miss Newlywed not so newlywed game, its a riot)you have a disco in the middle of the ship plus a more relaxed dance hall for the older crowd. the casinoes are also an option. since you have to fly to san juan i don't think you will have as many spring breakers as you think. that flight adds alot of cost. but even if there are they will not be in your way, theses ships are so big there is room for everybody. Be advised some carnival ships have a topless sunbathing area way at the top deck. you'll see a small sign at the stairs. but you will have a great cruise, have fun. and relax.

Katie: PS: most ships i have been on that did have an adult comic so to speak, start at midnight and they tell you up front its adult entertainment. usually held in the back smaller lounge not in the main lounge. also that topless deck is completly hidden, you cannot see anything on the lower decks.

We were on the Fascination during spring break two years ago - no problems with college-age persons at all - if you have this horrifying image of experiencing Fort Lauderale On Water at spring break, rest assured (at least for us) it wasn't like that. (Of course there is always an exception to the rule) It appeared that there there were very few singles on the ship anyway and with what little time spent around the pool while in port during the day, everyone seemed very well behaved - lots of fun and we didn't hear of any complaints about other passengers - young or old. I agree about the prior posting - there was an "adult language" comic on board for one late evening of entertainment in a lounge but guests were well advised they might find it offensive if they attended. We were too tired from the day's excursions to go, but heard he was very funny. The main showroom entertainment was quite tame in comparison to what you would find on TV - mostly "salute to Broadway-type" entertainment - singers, dancers, etc. There were some young kids on the ship too, but they had ample diversions with the kid's counselors and seemed to have a blast - they have their own fish-slide "kiddie pool" at the back lower deck where the little ones (and their parents) were kept occupied and the older kids have a disco, game room and age-oriented activites to hold their attention and make new friends. And everyone, young and old, took a turn on the water slide! The staff service was outstanding - we loved looking forward to our "towel animals" prepared by the room steward every evening in our stateroom at turndown! Have a great time.

I WAS GLAD TO SEE YOUR INQUIRY ABOUT POSSIBLE PROBLEMS BOOKING DURING SPRING BREAK. WE ARE ALSO BOOKED ON FASINATION 3/11. THIS IS ALSO OUR FIRST CRUISE. WE WERE LOOKING FOR A ROMANTIC TRIP WITHOUT OUR TWO TEENAGERS. WE WERE WORRIED ABOUT BEING AROUND LOTS OF KIDS ALSO. WE ALWAYS HAVE A HOUSE FULL AT HOME. IT WAS GOOD TO HEAR THAT WE SHOULD HAVE PLENTY OF ALONE TIME OPPORTUNITIES. HERE'S TO A GREAT TIME NEXT MONTH!!! HOPE YOU ARE AS EXCITED AS WE ARE. SHERYL, OKLAHOMA CITY

I was on fascination two years ago during spring break and would not do it again. In addition to TONS of college students and teenagers - there were lots of young kids (families). It was a very "loud and obnoxious" cruise. The cruise is very port intensive so you only feel it on the ship at night and during your day at sea. I was 26 and vowed never to do a Carnival ship again during March.
