Shuttles on Celebrity

We are taking a Mediterrranean cruise on the Millenium in June. I was wondering if when we dock in Livorno, the cruise line has a shuttle to take us to the train station or closer into town? I am afraid that getting a taxi for such a short ride won't happen. I have heard its a 45 min. walk from the ship and with a bad knee I want to save my walking for Florence, not in trying to get there! Don't bother recommending the ships excursion or a private tour. We want to be on our own. If there is no shuttle, we may have to take the Florence on your own bus that the cruiseline provides. Can someone help? Thanks.

Hello...
I also had plans of arriving in Livorno and taking the train to Florence/Pisa. There was only one problem: Italian trains are not real reliable, hence I would have had to wait a considerable amount of time to catch the train, as well as get all the way to Florence. Since one has very limited time in port, it was not worth it to me to miss so much valuable time in Florence and Pisa.

What we then did was take a "taxi" tour; for a set amount our own driver took us all the way to Florence (over an hour drive), waited for us, then took us to Pisa then back in time for the ship. He was very informative and helpful. Next time I visit, I will repeat my wonderful taxi tour!

Were there plenty of taxis in Livorno? I'm hoping to take a taxi to Lucca. How much did it cost you to Florence?

We docked in Livorno and waited for our guid/car which never showed, by the way. But while we were waiting, I noticed several other men holding cards with people's names on them. But no taxis at all. I could have just not seen them. Finally after an hour, we gave up and hired a car for the day - there were two cars for hire right there at the dock. So things worked out ok.
I really don[t know if there is a shuttle bus there.
If you don't get an answer, try the cruisecritics board.

Thanks for your advice. I'm still not sure if Celebrity provides shuttles from the ports into town and/or train stations. I posted this on cruisecritic and no one answered. I guess I could call Celebrity.
