Same for us too. We completed our registration online and got our medallions in the mail.

check out was a big problem. There was some issue about not enough longshoreman to take the luggage from the ship to the pier so we were about an hour late leaving from our scheduled time.

Last time we did a cruise was on Princess in Feb 2020, and we were hearing reports about the Diamond Princess and other ships with COVID just becoming an issue. First time with the Medallion as it had recently been introduced. We were able to download to a certain point and then zilch. When we were online to board I would say at least half the people had zero info about the Medallion and how to use it. Only time we used it was that the door to our room opened but it would have also opened just as well with a keycard had they still been in use. When I got home I randomly checked an old AOL account that I hadn't used in at least 8 years and all the info for the Medallion had been sent there even though my booking info had all my current email address information.

We did have a Norovirus outbreak on a Princess cruise we took in 2013. This was the last night of our cruise. Many people were taken ill. When we had to vacate our room we were told to wait in an area that is possibly a lounge area, similar to where you wait for a tender when needed. My concern was that we were likely infecting that whole area as couldn't imagine it was a high priority for the cleaning crew. Hopefully I was wrong on that but even though our illness was reported to the medical staff, we had zero follow-up from Princess even when I wrote our cruise evaluation and reached out to them. Needless to say, we were really on edge with the 2020 cruise but luckily didn't get sick at all.

sorry you had such a hard time. I would hope by now all the problems with the medallion have been straightened out. We had no problem with ours nor did the couple we travel with.
We were on the Celebrity constellation in 2011 and it was an outbreak of noro on this ship. There was a problem with the previous cruise and we were delayed getting on due to Cleaning. However, it occurred and in fact, I got it myself..
Fortunately, it was short lived.
Is frustrating that they sent all the medallion information to the wrong email address, which I mean not the current one that they had on record but an old one.
my only problem with Princess this time is that the supposed cruise planner that you have was basically useless. When I call him back a few days before we left or before we left I don’t think he was there anymore. He had no idea what he was talking about.
he and person at Princess told me that the only free meals we get were in the horizon buffet and that we had to pay extra to get a meal in one of the main dining rooms. I question him and told him to check and he said he did and he said this was correct. my travel agent who called Princess and of course, this was completely untrue. I think they were trying to maybe upsell me dining packages, but I must say I was very unimpressed with the people answering their phones..
I called him back to say that my travel agents princess contacts said that is completely untrue and we can eat it the main dining room and I told him specifically check one more time. Well he did and he came back and said yes, you can eat at one of the dining rooms, free of charge. I simply can’t imagine anybody who is supposed to be an advisor not knowing that meals are included in the main dining room.
But on the other hand, the onboard service was excellent as we have become used to from Princess.
