Move-over offer?

Just read on another website, some people receive move-over offers. Never heard of them, can you guys tell me more?

Cruise lines over sell, expecting a certain number of cancellations before final payment is due. When that doesn't happen, they contact passengers and offer incentives to switch to another sailing. They'll keep upping the ante until they get enough passengers accepting the offers.

move over cruises from Princess

I've just been offered a move over cruise from Princess. Does anyone know if we can extend this to a longer cruise. ( we were booked for 13 days & free cruise offered up to 13 days).
Also does the new cruise need to leave from the same city.

Wouldn't you need to ask Princess those questions? (note the thread you topped is nearly 8 years old)
