Millenium - Concierge Classs

I'm planning a cruise and land package to Alaska on the Millenium in August 2008. Is it worth the extra money to upgrade to the Concierge Class? I'm considering the Concierge Class with a Veranda on the Panorama Deck. Also, I've seen messages about Obstructed Views on the Summit. Are there any obstructed views on the Millenium?

I wouldn't pay extra for it.

I really think you would be better off with the Coral Princess. It has 2 glaciers. If you miss your one glacier on the cruise, it will be very disappointing.

rich99, go visit the Celebrity boards at cruisecritic.com. Yes, there are some obstructed cabins.

Personally, I was not impressed with CC class on Celebrity. On the Millie though, you will get a larger cabin in this calss which would be worth it IF the price is right.

On the Celebrity Century before being re-furbished we had a CC cabin.. there were lots of little extras... but on this trip on the Galaxy we opted out of the CC category..but we have the same size cabin and veranda and have saved $$$...The difference is selection of pillows, appetizers at4:00 p.m.(usually stale) flowers and a few other amenities.. I would not want an obstructed view though..Check the Celebrity site and the map ofthe Millineum

I think on the Millenium it would be worth it - it certainly was on the Summit. Go to cruisecritic.com to find out about specific rooms and whether there would be an obstruction issue - but the pillow menu alone makes it well worth the price..... Rooms were a bit larger, we had fresh flowers everyday, appetizers which were quite tasty a good percentage of the time, and the service was flawless (probably is in all rooms, but it really, really was exceptional). Have a great time - we went in early August from Vancouver - loved it loved it loved it. Also, be sure to do the train to Denali thing - definitely worth the money....
