LAX to Cruise ships, how far?

How far is it from LAX to the cruise ships? How about, how far is it from San Diego to LAX? I will be driving from SD to LAX to pick-up my in-laws, then going to the cruise ship. They do have parking there, right? Thank you.

I think LAX is around 20 miles from the port, and they do have parking. There are several threads on the http://www.cruise-addicts.com/ message boards that address this. Good luck!

Assuming you are coming from San Diego airport, expect it to take at least 2 hours to reach LAX. If you're coming from the north part of SD county (La Jolla and up), the drive can be done in about 1 1/2 hours. From LAX to San Pedro, about 35-45 minutes. Driving time will depend a lot on time of day. If your drive will be taking place during weekday commute hours, add an extra 20 minutes to an hour to the times listed above. There is parking at the pier at San Pedro - in March the daily rate was $10 and the total amount has to be prepaid in cash. Hope this helps.

Watch your timing. Traffic up the 405 from San Diego can be brutal. Traffic back from LAX can be even worse.

Tell us what day and time you are thinking about.
