LAX to Berth for Viking Serenade

What is the best way to get from lax sto the berth for the Viking Serenade. The quotes for the transfers $30 per person seems very expensive. Are there any van srevices that at good and less expensive at LAX? This is our first cruise we are very excited.
Mike

Mike, I'm no help in finding out the price for other transportation but remember when you're comparing that the $30 is for both directions so you would need to find something less than $15. That makes it seem a little better. Have a great cruise!

Sorry....forgot to tell you that I believe the distance from LAX to the ship is about 20-25 miles.

Hi Mike,

I'm also going to be taking that cruise and I've never been to LA. I've done some research that suggests there are shuttles from the airport, but they charge about the same as RCI does. I'm going in a day early and staying at an airport hotel, so I intend to check it out when I get there. Cabs, I understand, run about $45 each way.

I don't suppose you're going on the June 26 sailing? We could share a cab.

I'd also love to hear from anyone who's done this.

Thanks for the replies. I called AAA travel they have someone they use for $27 round trip. I will probably book with RCI to keep things simple. We are taking the June 30 trip so we will wave as you disembark. We can compare notes after the cruise.
Thanks
Mike

Mike -

What a great idea! I never thought of AAA. I'm a member and I'll check with them.

By all means, let's compare notes here afterward. This is only my second cruise, and my first with my 15-year-old daughter. My husband can't make this trip, so it's sure to be a different kind of experience.

Jeanne

As a So. Cal resident, the $30 for a round trip sounds good to me. I think it will be a lot easier for your. Have a great cruise.

Just to follow up. When I called RCI they had a waiting list for transportation. I called Strategic cruise services (recomended by AAA). They charged me $20 round trip including a discount for paying with a credit card. Talk to you after the cruise.
Mike

We are starting to get excited our departure is very soon. There is a nice French returant in Ensenada called the El Rey Sol (The Sun King) that we ate at about 12 years ago we might stop in for dessert this time. Jeanne what part of the country do you live in?
mike
