havent been on this one, but went on another royal ship last year that was brand new and on it first year of voyage, and was a little disappointed i felt the staff needed more time to adjust to being on the ship and that the kinks needed to be worked out. But had a great time none the less and yet again going on another royal cruise this year, and dont think i will ever change cruise lines. Happy sailing

Thanks Megsterl,Which ship did you go on, we have never sailed with R.C but have done a few others, including Carnival and Super Star ship Leo, which we loved. As this will be the longest duration trip (two weeks) we are wondering how we wll go. Formal nights, are they extremely formal, will my husband need a tux, or will dark dress suit be Ok, any tips will be very much appeciated,

i love royal and go every year
and im only 24, it was the mariner of the sea, and it was too big. I dont like the supper huge ships, too much walking. i hate that i cant walk the length of the ship on certain floors, because of the hugh mall. I feel that the smaller ships are more personal, especially the staff, they know your names ect...

We'll be on the Jewel in Jan. so I'll let you know how it was. We just returned from the Brilliance and loved it.

Hi,
My wife and I are book on the Jewel for Feb.26, 2005. We will be in cabin 1108 which is an aft cabin on deck 10 just under the Windjammer. It will be our 25th cruise with RCCL. We were on the Navigator on the Nov.6th cruise and I took some pictures of the Jewel as we came into port in San Juan. I'll post a link to one of the pictures but you will be able to view all the cruise pictues if you like.

I hope the link works. If not, you can go to www.sonnyv.smugmug.com and click on the Navigator gallery. I here nothing but good about the Jewel.
