On some of the other cruise Bulletin Boards, similar discussions have brought a laundry list of stuff. What I don't understand is why anyone wants to lug an additional suitcase full of stuff -
I'm an avid traveler; I make at LEAST 4-5 vacations a year, and have gone on 2 cruises this year already, and I have NEVER carried duck tape with me, nor have I ever needed it on vacation.
Some people say they use it to tape close the curtains in the cabin - I have been on cruise ships from an old NCL to The Celebrity Millienium, And I never had to fuss with the curtains.
I have seem some posts where people are actually bringing GIFTS for the cabin staff - WHY THE HELL FOR? That's why you TIP them CASH.
Now I understand why people need 3-4 suitcases EACH for vacation.
I travel to Hawaai often, and it never ceases to amaze me how a couple of 2 need 6 to 7 suitcases for a Hawaai vacation - All the islands are casual and it's the tropics -

You DON'T need a clotheslines, since the shower stalls in the cabins have them.
If you spend $10 for a battery-operated alarm clock, you won't need to waste an outlet for your clock -

I always travel with one of those huge clips, the kind you use to close potato chip / pretzel bags. Bought it in the supermarket. Great for keeping the curtains closed and on the last day, I gather all my receipts and use the clip to hold them together.
