What's the best hotel, in your opinion, for staying the night before a cruise (Carnival). thanks!

The best hotel is Marriott, but if you want to save money, try Best Western or Day Inn.

(well, a vague answer to a vague question )

It is important to find out as precisely as possible where in Tampa your ship will be leaving from. The city is spread out around the bay and you could find yourself with long taxi ride away from your ship. That said, there is a Marriott and an Intercontinental near Harbor Island which was a departure point in 2006.

We've stayed here - check out the cruise package. Super convenient. This was a while back, but that manager's special actually included grilled burgers and hot dogs, chips, potato salad and beer and wine. Basically dinner. There's also a Bahamas Breeze restaurant right next door.

Via internet looked at Chase Hotel. It looks great; however, my dates Jan 16 -17, 2010 are unavaiable. We are leaving out of Terminal 2 - Carnival.
