Hairdryers on ship

I'm traveling on the Mercury. First Cruise! and was told that they supply hairdryers. I'm afraid it will be useless and wondering if I can take my own.

Leah - I was on the Sea Princess in May
and they provided a hair dryer in the room and it was adequate. If you want
to lug your hair dryer along that's up to you, but I wouldn't. More room for the wonderful things you're going to bring back from your cruise.

Leah- I was on Celebrity's Century last month. It is similar to the Mercury. I had a suite and it was fantastic. My hair dryer was great...I took one but never needed it. The only thing I noticed was that it got hot and I needed to use a wash cloth to assist in holding it for long periods of time. Have a great time. You will love Celebrity Cruises!! The ship is wonderful. Enjoy!!

I have never been on the Mercury but have been on other Celebrity ships and they have all had hair dryers. The last was on the Zenith in August and they had a 2 speed model mounted on the wall that was very good. They have adequate outlets if you want to take your own but it certainly isn't necessary. One less thing you need to pack. You'll LOVE Celebrity - the food and service are outstanding.
I guess there always has to be the "bah humbug" type. I was on the Galaxy late May and found the hair dryer did not dry my hair well, and I have very fine hair. It could be just the one in my cabin, but I am going again in 2 1/2 weeks and taking my own dryer. You will love Celebrity--the Mercury is very similar to Galaxy, and she is beautiful!
