Great Tour St. Lucia!!!

My family had the time of our lives with JungleTours in St. Lucia a couple weeks ago. My husband and I are late 40s and we have a 20 and 18 year old. We were there for the day on the Infinity cruise. I reserved with .www.jungletoursstlucia.com/index.htm
I reserved the day with Shal, who came highly recomended. At $70 per person for an 8 hour personal tour it is a steal!
The personality of your tour guide can make all the difference. Shal is a jewel! Personality plus! We didn't just see St. Lucia, we experienced it.
Nothing can compare to tooling down a twisty road standing up in a 4x4 jeep. Tasting rainforest foods picked right off the trees, and spectacular scenery. Shal even got my daughter and I mineral mud near the volcano. We did a whole body mask and washed it off beneath a beautiful waterfall. We were the only people there. Seeing the volcano, a delicious lunch buffet- Shal even played soccer on the beach with my kids. I could go on and on.
My family whole heartedly agreed that day was the best vacation day ever.
Debb: My husband and I have booked the Infinity for March 16th for our 20th anniversary celebration. We are so excited but confused about what to do on each island. Can you help? Do you have any definite "yes's or no's"? Any advice, tips, etc. will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Mary:
My husband and I just returned from Infinity last week. Infinity is an amazing ship with amazing amenities. This is what we did on each island: St. Croix: We hired a taxi to take us to the downtown area to shop. Forget it, go to a beach. The shopping isn't that great on St. Croix. St. Lucia: We did not book the tour through JungleTours as Deb did, but we booked through the ship, the same tour at 72.00 per person. It was very nice, and comprehensive, BUT a bit too long for my taste - 7 and a half hours. We got back to the ship at 4:20 pm - 10 minutes before the gangway went up! And the shopping by the pier looked awesome! Barbados: We hired a taxi and went to Malibu Beach - I recommend this beach. It is pretty and close to the ship. You'll have plenty of time to shop at the mall near the pier. Antigua: We hired a taxi and went to Millers by the Bay beach. Nice public facility, but I wanted to go to Pineapple Beach but was outvoted in my group because its on the other side of the island. I had a nice time there. St. Thomas: did the Megan's Bay beach escape. Escape to Coki Point by cab instead. MUCH prettier, clearer water and good snorkeling. And of course you need not leave the pier for good shopping.

This is my opinion. Email me if you have more questions. You will LOVE Infinity.

Thanks Cathy! Did you use any of the ship's spa facilities? If so, was it worth the cost? Did you have a cabin with balconey? We have 7134 on the Vista deck, deluxe ocean-view with veranda. I hope it's a good choice. Did you need any formal dresses? How was the food? I read some negative responses on that subject. Did you hear anything about the Jolly Roger cruises? It sounds like you preferred the beaches to sight seeing. We hope to do a little of each and hope we choose the right combination! Mary
Hi Mary,

Do not worry about the food, it is very good.

The Jolly Roger Cruise is one where you can let your hair down. Drink, dance and sing. Not for everyone.

Paul

Mary:
The AquaSpa is wonderful large and very relaxing. It is run by a very competent staff. The menu and prices can be found at Sensoryheaven.com. I personally used only the Persian Gardens and the Thalassotherapy Pool. Both were great, and no children are allowed so you can really relax. The prices are in line with a very top of the line spa, and the people I talked with on ship that used the services were very pleased.

We did not have a balcony cabin, however we were situated right across from a Sky Suite on deck 9. The people in that cabin invited us in and the quarters were roomy and comfy (as was out cabin) and the balcony was wonderful. To be sure, we will book our next one with a balcony!

Yes, you need dressy outfits: 2 of them for a 7 night cruise. On Infinity, most people did dress up. You will see a lot of sequins, chiffon and long dresses but anything dressy or cocktail-ly will work very well. The crowd on Celebrity seems to be a bit more upscale and more into dressing up. We saw quite a few tuxedoes, but most men wore dark suits for formal dinner nights.

Do NOT worry about Celebrity's food. It enjoys a tremendous, rightfully earned reputation. If you get a suite, you will get breakfast delivered to your room (if you desire). Room service overall is prompt, hot and has good choices. Available 24 hours. The dining room is gorgeous and the food is wonderful and inventive. The meats and fish were very good. Lunch can be in the dining room or in buffet. Either choice is good. You will not be disappointed in the food!

We did some sightseeing to and from the beaches. With us being in the Midwest, you better believe I was interested in romping the beaches! You will enjoy yourself!
