GOLDEN PRINCESS SMOKING POLICY

Just returned from a 15 day cruise on the Golden Princess. Non-smokers beware. Even though they say they have a non-smoking policy in most areas of the ship, they do not always enforce it, even when requested to do so by non-smoking passengers.

As with any cruise line, the staff are not meant to be policemen and passengers tend to break the rules.

Judy
As with MOST cruise lines, staff including officers, are NOT Americans.According to CLIA,Americans are the only species on the planet adamantly opposed to smoking.Non-Americans now make up a significant percentage of passengers on previously American dominated cruise ships.
Jason

If you want a non-smoking ship, go on the Carnival Paradise, the ONLY non-smoking ship.

Not one smoker will try to justify their habit, except maybe due to patriotic reasons as we pay so much tax. Most will be considerate of others. All object to the demanding, arrogant, know-it-all nature of the avid anti-smoker...no matter what their reason.

We are still 1/3 of the population...a larger group than any other minority....

Interesting posts.

Here's another tidbit. Previous to 1950 just about everyone smoked. If everyone that smoked and breathed second-hand smoke, there would be very few people over aged 60 living now.

Paul

You must be a non-smoker and not been around second hand smoke in the fifties, eh?

I am 57 and grew up in a house with a 2 pack a day smoking father. I developed adult asthma, and it is felt to be because of my exposure as a child.

If you want to smoke, fine, just don't exhale!
