Hi, Just a quick explanation. I typed a long review earlier and somehow lost it. So I typed 'testing' to see if that posted and then it was dinner time and now, I'm back to try again. (I think I took too long the first time and this new computer with XP didn't like it!) I'm going to try this in a couple of parts and see if I can get it finished tonight.
We had a great time. A couple of small problems but all-in-all a very good cruise. First, the Harbor House in Galveston where we spent the night before the cruise and parked for the duration. A very nice place. Spacious rooms and a lot of character. Plus we were able to walk to the ship the next morning even though the Grand Princess and 2 restaurants were between us and the Galaxy. It wasn't too bad though, plus we avoided the long line of traffic.

We liked the Galaxy. The cabin (we were inside in 9167) was roomy enough for us and had good closet and drawer space. Plus the bathroom and shower were the best size-wise that we've seen. And the cabin location was good and quiet.
The food, service and entertainment were good but then we've found it (we think) equally so on our previous cruises on RCL, NCL and Carnival. They do a few thinks that may put them a step higher..a nice water/ice set-up in your cabin, robes (even for us in an inside), floating rose pedals and hand towels in the public (?) restrooms are a few of things I can think of off-hand.

Part 3 (I'm taking no chances this time!)
I'm going to mention a couple of things which I hope won't classify me as picky!
We like wine now and then but found it too high for us this time, either by the bottle or glass. Our first evening we had a couple of glasses before going in for dinner...it was about $18 and we picked out the least expensive we saw listed! Then we were served 2 glasses that were bearly half-full!! That was it for wine on this cruise.
Sheets. Now this is my opinion and I'd like to hear yours. On day one I noticed a very small distinctive old stain on an upper corner. No big deal untill night 12 when it was still there! I thought ONE day he'd change them out but it never happened. And you know you hardly see your steward anyway...you leave for breakfast come back later and your room is done. My husband said I should call him if it bothered me but I didn't. However, I did write about it on my 'guest suggestion' and told them that I change my sheets once a week at home and that one change on a 12 night cruise would be appropriate - and for me at least - expected. Just for the record this didn't affect our gratuity because the service otherwise was great and, yes, I could have hollered and it would have been done.
The next segment will be on food.....

The food was good. The last day had it's problems though. The ravioli at lunch in the DR was awful and for only the second time on 7 cruises, it went back. And the beef tenderlion at dinner was chunks that had a lot of fat and gristle and I just couldn't chew it. Otherwise, everything was very good and our table for two and the wait staff were great!
Now for the good news. I've never been a big bingo player but usually play a couple of times on a cruise. Well, I won a game for the first time ($60) on day 6 or 7. We didn't play the last couple of days but no one won the jackpot so they were having the final big game in the Celebrity Theater on the last night, between the 2 shows. Well, Francis from N. Little Rock and I split $3600. I'm still in shock. I couldn't even sleep that night! If I'd known, I'd have drank more wine!!!
O-71 has special meaning to me now!

We won't hesitate to take another Celebrity cruise either. I just hope they are not priced out of our league in the future. It would be nice if they eventually sail from NO or even Mobile as both are relatively short drives for us.
I forgot to mention their guest 'enlightment'(?) speakers. Their was a Dr. Hall who spoke on the history of the PC, the Incas and a couple of like subjects. And a Colonel Bauer who has a book out called 'At Ease In the White House' and who spoke about the Presidents he served under as a WH military social aide. Not the right title but I forget exactly what he called himself. Ah..old age is creeping up!!
