Flight after cruise - how soon

we have a cruise which arrives back in Copenhagen at 5am. The earliest flight out of Copenhagen is at 9am....do I have enough time to get off ship and get to airport? Not sure how far airport is from ship and how crazy it is disembarking? The next flight is not until 8PM....if I have to wait until then, what do we do with our baggage in meantime? Anyone?

Absolutely crazy !!! Way too tight. You have no assurances that the ship will disembark at exactly 5 AM. Three years we were delayed by over 6 hours from getting tinto Copenhagan by rough seas. Spend a day in Copenhagen and enjoy the city with any pressure on yourself.

I will be in Copenhagen in Augsut.
Starting a cruise there and ending the cruise there.

Our flight leaves Copenhagen at 835 AM.

I have booked a hotel to stay the full day in Copenhagen . I will get a wake up call at about 4 AM and head for the airport.

I will just do a tour of Copenhagen when I disembark I will see the Tivoli Gardens among other places...I am also coming into Copenhagen a few days prior to the cruise.

I agree with fmpden....way too tight.

One slight little thing goes wrong and you miss the 9 AM flight.
Don't do it.
Enjoy Copenhagen.

Most cruiselines will give you the earliest time it is safe to book flight/connections. Also, while not ideal, cruise on which we have been often have "excursions" for disembarkation day where they put you on a bus for a short day city tour and then dump you at the airport - you meet your luggage there.

I had a similar situation once and although we had to be out of our cabin early so they could prepare it for the next guests, we were able to store our luggage on the ship for the day. We could come and go off the ship during the day, eat lunch onboard etc. We had a 6:00 pm flight and the ship wasn't sailing again until 7:00 so it worked out great. I would look into just staying onboard as we did. You can always freshen up and shower if you want to in the gym before leaving for the airport. I'm sure most cruiselines will accommodate you if they're in port all day anyway.
