My wife and I figure that if we stay away from the worst cruise lines, then we should probably have a good cruise (average is fine with us) We have a young son and daughter (six and eight years) and will be taking them with us....but we don't want to worry about them. So, can anyone tell us the worst cruise lines in general and specifically, which ones the kids would not enjoy? Will the kids be safe in the ship's children's programs?

Your 6 and 8 year old would most likely have a great time on Princess. You don't have to worry about their safety. The childrens counselors are great. We have cruised with Princess many times. <BR>My opinion of the worst cruise line is Carnival, it's too rowdy. Don't think many parents take there children on that line. I wouldn't. First Time Cruiser, I would recommed Disney Cruise Lines for children. It allows them plenty of things to do and adults time to do adult things. <BR> <BR>I would stay away from Carnival unless your kids are into alcohol & parties at bars. That's all Carnival offers.

Paul please let me. Teenagers urinating in the stairwells. Unsupervised children running through the lounges. Is that specific enough. Paul stop meddling, your crediblity is zip. <BR> <BR>Alittleworried. Don't listen to this man. He praises CCL and condemns specific other lines. There is a sneaking suspicion that he gets more than the average TA percentage in response to his praise of CCL. <BR> <BR>Carnival is MTV Springbreak on water. Try Disney.

If you don't want to make a mistake go with Princess....I've never sailed Disney but I would imagine that wouldn't be a mistake either.... <BR> <BR>Seems the kids are very happy on Princess when I've seen them trooping about with their counselors....they are all well-behaved and seem to be having a very good time..... <BR> <BR>With Princess you won't have to worry about "average"...you'll get exceptional...even in the cheapest room they've got!!!! <BR>Of all the ships I have sailed I believe Princess has one of the best children's program due to the fact that the conselors are all experienced in child welfare and development. All those that I have spoken with have college degrees and most are retired with PHD's, Masters and Doctorates. <BR> <BR>I am not saying that all the children will be in the program since many do not care for the structure (especially on Disney). Some with no parental supervision will be running and jumping and screaming with their new-found friends. This is what kids do. This does bother some passengers but those passengers should sail the upscale lines. <BR> <BR>Kids are safe on ships if you, the parents, know where they are. Make sure you sign them in and out of the children's program and do not let them walk the ship alone. You will then have a worry free vacation. <BR> <BR>Paul <BR> <BR> <BR>
