Do we have to arrive at the port the day before?

The same day flight is scheduled to arrive at 10:30am (1 connection), ship departs at 5pm, would that be ok?

Thanks!

It should be OK as long as you don't encounter any problems with either of your in-bound flights.

I do not like to risk it and prefer to arrive the day before the cruise sails. We have had flights delayed and also cancelled due to weather and mechanical problems so you never know.

Do you have trip insurance?

I haven't booked the trip yet, but once I do, I will buy the trip insurance.

I think it depends when you're traveling and from where. We've done it both ways and it's worked fine.

There is another BIG advantage to flying in the day before (if your schedule allows). It gives you an extra day to really enjoy your cruise.

The stress of getting up early to make your flight, the airport hassels, weather delays, etc. leave you worn out and tired on your first day aboard.

If you can get there a day earlier, you reduce the stress on your trip to the ship and wake up refreshed and ready to enjoy your first day on board.

I always arrive the day before, just not worth the risk of missing the ship

What I like about arriving early is that you can be fresh when you arrive and don't have to turn in early the first night. Also, you can dress for the weather, as opposed to coming in from the north with coats, etc.
