Disney Magic?
I heard on the radio this past week that the first few voyages of the Disney Cruise Line were rather "bumpy" with services and such. Has anyone cruise with them as of yet? Or have you (Fodor) completed a review of the cruise line? I am planning a cruise for next year and was curious about the Disney Cruise line.

I was on the Disney Magic in November we did the 3 day land and 4 day sea package. I thought it was good value for money as i had free entrance to all the Disney theme parks and all my transfers were included and the hotel Disney Dixie Landings was great. The ship itself is lovely and our cabin which was a outside with veranda was superb. Unfortunatly i would not go back on this ship again or not unless i was going with children. The food was o.k. i did not enjoy the entertainment apart from the last nights show which was true Disney. It is ideal for families with children which is what it is really geared up for. I was told about very different ship from the one i encounted by my TA (who I wont use again) He said it was perfect for couples without children as there was so much for adults, I did not find this to be the case or certainly not compared to other cruise lines like Princess and Celebrity.

Ronda,

I went on the Disney Magic last August with my entire side of the family (15 in all). We had a great time. I have cruised on three other lines and Disney was quite nice if you are looking for a family vacation. I don't think it would be my cup of tea if I didn't have kids.

The ship is quite pretty and the food was nice enough. I thought the evening shows were a bit lame and I skipped them after the first night.

The private island was great -- get out there early to get a chair.

Pam
