Im sure this question has been asked a dozen times, has anyone ever had or seen a table for 2 on the Fantasy? I love the fine dining but I can't stand the awkardness of eating with people I don't know. My husband and I could not even be ourselves. Everyone was so formal and they acted like it hurt to talk. For fine dining, I just want it to be just the two of us (a nice quiet romantic dinner) where we can be who we are. I don't wanna feel stuffy. Anyone else had this problem with fine dining?

dwoods I argee with you. We do not like eating with people we do not know. We were on the Fantasy 4 yrs ago and ate at those big tables of 8. Ughh!! I always feel unconfortamble. Next time I'm definetly requesting a table for 2. Make sure your travel agent puts you down for table for 2!! and check when you board the ship. I've heard it can be done.
Good Luck!!

dwoods, I felt exactly like you and wanted a table for two, but my husband wanted to sit at a bigger table. We went to Bermuda on the Horizon and asked for a table for 10. But there were only two other couples at our table besides us, but boy did we have fun. The waiters thought we had all come together on the trip because I think we ended up being a really fun table. We would start out the evening together or sit together at a show or meet up later for a drink. It was kind of fun bumping into them during the day and exchanging what we'd been doing since we'd last met. I know this is not for everybody, and if it weren't for my husband, I would have missed the experience. This dining thing had always been one of my pet peeves about cruising, but for us it was a good experience. Maybe next time I can talk him into the table for two, because that does sound nice.

There are many cruise lines that will not accept requests. There are literally hundreds that want a window table and quite a few that want a table for two. The tables are limited.

Here's the procedure: As SOON as you arrive on the ship call (do not go and wait in line) the information office and ask where the Maitre d' is located. Be sure to also ask where on the deck he is located (forward or aft). He will grant your request depending on availability. Tipping will not help and it would be an insult. You can tip him at the end of the cruise.

Good luck,

Paul
