Cruise begins in San Juan

We booked our air travel through Celebrity from BWI into San Juan. We arrive in San Juan around 2PM on a Saturday. If we elect to not use the Celebrity Transfers in San Juan and take a taxi to the Celebrity pier, will our luggage still go directly to our room on the ship? Or do we need to get our luggage at the airport and take it with us in the taxi?

Roy, I have flown into San Juan several times to embark Seabourn ships. I would
go ahead and get your luggage at the airport, then on to the Pier....which is a great Pier! Smack in the middle of downtown San Juan! Enjoy your trip!

Get your own luggage and take a taxi. The pier Celebrity used when we went was NOT the one right in Old San Juan. It was the Pan American Terminal which is across the bay.

Yes, all the Celebrity Sat/Sun cruises leave from across the bay and not in Old San Juan.

Paul

You have to claim your own luggage regardless of whether you are taking the Celebrity bus or a cab.

We just returned from San Juan and our Celebrity Cruise on the Galaxy. You DO NOT need to claim your luggage before boarding the Celebrity bus. I would go directly to the pier with the bus. There was someone there to meet us. We gave her our transfers and went directly to the bus. Nothing could have been easier and check in was a breeze. I would go directly to the pier and then after you check in, take a cab to Old San Juan. It will be a lot cheaper in the end.
