Crown Princess June 25 sailing

This ship had a faulty engine. We abandoned ship after two days in Copenhagen, our port of departure. There was no departure confirmed, and three of six ports cancelled. Looking for info on status of this cruise....departure, ports, compensation, & more. THANKS.

Marc: We just returned from the Crown Princess Baltic tour that left Copenhagen June 15. The engine failed at the dock in St. Petersburg, and instead of leaving at 5:30pm, we left at 2am, during which time there was no water, toilets, A/C, lights in the room, etc. Someone else responded to one of my messages that this ship has trouble in Barcelona too. We skipped Estonia, so they credited $150 each. We made the rest of our ports. How terrible for you.

Marc: Did you have air through Princess? Did they schedule an earlier flight home? Do you know what happened with those who scheduled their own air? Were any able to make alternative arrangements -- thus seeing some of the countries? Which 3 ports were cancelled?
We are scheduled for the Aug 3 sailing so ANY info would be MOST welcome.
Thanks.

The following is the FAx received: Please note that the itinerary for the 6/25/01 Crown Princess has been modified as it developed an unforseen technical problem that required immediate attention and repair. The ship returned to Copenhagen where repairs were carried out. As a result, the itinerary has been revised as per the attached itinerary. Unfortunately, the Crown Princess will no longer call at Tallinn, Gdynia, and Oslo.

In recognition of the itinerary change as well as any disappointment or inconvnience for your clients may have experienced, they will receive a refund of 50% of their cruise fare less the $500. per person that your clients were provided with an onboard credit for their immediate use...based on cruise fare only( not airfare, gov fees and taxes or other charges). ...
6/25 Copenhagen
6/26 -628 sea
6/29 Nynashamn SE 6am-4pm
6/30- Helsinki FI 8:30am-5pm
7/1-7/2 St Petersburg
7/3-7/4- sea
7/5 Copenhagen 5am

Is this change for this date only? Or are the problems such that all future sailings will omit these ports?

While the ship was in dock for repairs, were you permitted to do any day trips?
What were conditions on board -- electricity etc?

Marc: Received the FAX on Saturday. Check with your TA or Princess about future ports. I will let you know if I hear anything else.
