How recent is recent? We were on it 2 years ago. Had balcony cabin for me, husband and teenage dtr - cabin and service was excellent. Always found food at dinner in main dining room and breakfast buffet enjoyable. Lunch buffets on any cruise seem to be their weak point. My take on food is more tolerant than others - while I like decent food, I feel their are limitations to serving food to thousands multiple times/day.
No issues with cleanliness. Staff was appropriate and helpful.
I am not a big fan of cruise ship entertainment. On sea days there could have been a bit more to do on board other than bingo and a "Mr Sexy Legs" contest.

I have been on Century twice: in 2005 and 2007. It is a wonderful ship and was renovated in early 2006, I believe. The food and service was fabulous, the ship is in great condition. On the first cruise they had wonderful entertainment. The second cruise was shorter, so not as much variety.
Can't really remember daytime activities (I just like to sit and read), other than they had someone who did educational lectures...one was on tsumanis, one was a "fun science" lecture and another on Einstein. They were intersting and fun. I was recently on Celebrity Constellation and the lectures were all about acupuncture and detoxing-not what I'm interested in. Don't know if that is an company-wide change or if we were just "unlucky" in what was scheduled for that specific cruise.
I would not hestitate to book a cruise on Century, and in fact, we have booked another short Century cruise for next December.

I have been on the Century Baltic Cruise in summer 2007. Here my comments:
General impression: The Century is a mass-market ship which offers great value for money. Do not expect luxury and be tolerant to some imperfections - then you will have a memorable cruising experience.
Food: 100% American. We liked the lunch buffets, especially the sandwich (made to order) and pasta stations (also made to order). Dining room food was mixed quality - the specialty restaurant (extra charge) is recommended.
Entertainment: The shows were not our thing (although we like shows). But the bars were outstanding: A very cool, ultra-contemporary Martini bar next to an distinguished old-fashioned, oak-paneled bar with live music. We liked the bar. There is also a dancing club with decent live music.
Staff: In the specialty restaurant first class, in the dining room good, maid and room service not without complaints.
Cleanliness: Public areas and room were perfectly clean. We disliked, however, the water puddles on the balcony floor (the balcony was hardly usable because of the water).

We just got back from a New Years cruise on her. We also cruised her a couple years ago, maybe 2005 or so. The ship and crew are very good. The food in the main dining room was OK, definitely downhill from all our prior Celebrity cruises. Diner in Murano, was awesome and absolutely worth the extra cost.
