We've been on the Valor and her sister ships. A favorite spot is her deli. They make your sandwiches while you wait - their Reubans are great! Also the hot tubs in the very back of the Lido deck, 9, are adults only. The pool there had been but last week on the Glory kids were allowed in them - but most kids just go to the main pools (we call these the pee pools abd hot tubs!) The beef on the Glory last week was so tender and good! Buffet is boring but available. And Carnival no longer has 'formal'night. It is now called elegant night! Have nothing bad to say about the Valor or Glory.

Hi cruisin_tigger,
I have a question-can you tell me the break down of dress for dinner on this cruise (since you were just on the Valor)? 1st night, 2nd, etc. In the past we haven't really liked Caribbean Night so we thought we would try the Steakhouse and go ahead and make reservations. Thanks so much.

I can answer questions about Carnivals two'cruise elegance' nights. We were on the Glory twice in September - not B2Bs-. There was a noticible difference in passengers. 1st cruise very few people dressed formally, a lot with what they'd wear any regular night. But 2nd cruise a lot more were in tux's and more formal gowns. We did see jeans and t-shirts on formal nights in the dining room. They have photograpers stationed around to take your picture in formal wear. My husband takes a linen sports jacket and linen pants. I wear a nice cocktail dress. On all other nights they now allow 'long' shorts and jeans in the dining room for dinner.(Hate that!)My husband wears dockers and a polo shirt, I wear a dress. Or, you can always go to the buffet!

I know the first elegant night was the 2nd night. And I want to say the second elegant night was the night we left Belize. I remember being drained from the heat and so we just hit the buffet. As Bonnie said, clothing ran the gamut - I saw really fancy down to just nice slacks with a Hawaiian type shirt. But as we didn't attend either elegant night, can't say what was in the dining room - as I know lots of people will change after eating.

my wife and I have been on the Valor twice. 4 years ago we took our two kids who were 3 & 4 at the time. We had a great time.
Her and I went again 2 years ago December to: Roatan - Belize -Cozumel and Grand Caymen.
We booked a zipline and personel driver for the day online and saved almost half the cost of booking through the cruise line. Also booked cave tubing through cavetubing.com for Belize. it was half the cost and we got to do 2 caves instead of the one you will do through the cruise line and it was half the price. One couple on the cave tubing trip took their 9 month old baby on the river.
We didnt know of the steakhouse the first time on the ship, but booked it as soon as we got on the second time.
IT WAS AWSOME! Perhaps the best steak I've had in my life, and I'm 45. Make sure you book it as soon as possible.
My wife and I went on the Carnival Destiny last December, thinking we would book the steakhouse...No such luck! Not all ships have this option.
My wife and I are getting itchy to go again, with the kids, maybe in February.
Enjoy your trip!

We leave Nov 1st. I have a 2, 7, & 9 yr old. does anyone know what they do about a crib/pack and play for the youngest to sleep in? what are they like?
how about any excursion recommendations for just going to the beach with the little ones? other recommendations are welcome too, I just don't know what else we'll be able to do with the 2 yr old.
Thanks for any thoughts.
