Do your Due Diligence with OAT and GCT...
It seems OAT and GCT have had a positive response to the negative treatment of "singles" travellers in related forum messages. BUT as a result, couples have paid the higher price to compensate. I have been on 5 OAT trips. The last was in 2014 to S.E. Asia. There were three couples including ourselves. The rest of the travellers were singles who mostly had there own rooms in all destinations WITHOUT sharing. I could only deduce that the couples who are sharing rooms are actually subsidizing the singles, WITHOUT compensation or reduced rates. Yet, the singles benefit and have NO single supplement.
I can't account for the effective additional cost for couples on OAT trips, and OAT personnel would not comment directly to this query after a number of my attempts.
So, it seems that OAT and GCT are targeting the "singles" travel population by having NO single supplement, and the couples effectively pay more than singles for the same trips, since couples obviously share rooms.
