dwoods - have read that the $35 tour of Atlantis wasn't worth it - you can do pretty much all of that for free. For sure, the shops and Casino are accessable for no charge. If you want more info and don't get it on this thread - go over to cruisecritic.com and do a search for Atlantis - you'll get 100's of threads.

I did the tour through the ship which was approximately $40 I believe.

It was fine. It is nice if you really like aquariums. I got sort of bored after the 2nd hour.

As far as what you can see for free is only the shops and the casino. You can not see the archeological dig or the aquariums. They check for wrist bands at most entrances.

You can see the pools but can't use them.

I am glad I saw it but I wouldn't do it again.
The vans to Paradise Island and Atlantis stop at the bottom of the cruise ship gangway. No walking.
Hint: Do not let them talk you into paying the toll, it is included in the fare. You can, of course, let someone else pay.

As with any tours on any island you have to go with your own mind. What some people hate, some love.

Paul
I'm glad you agree with me Kim. Years ago I loved the Atlantis since the underwater aquariums and water park were free to all. Now of course you must pay but the aquarium is extrmemly unique. It is definitely an experience. It is underground and the digs are extraordinary. Altough it is not as massive as say the Baltimore Aquarium or the New England Aquarium it is very different and interesting.

Paul
