Alaskan Shore Excursions or Sightseeing

Cruising end of June. Does anyone have recommendations outside of the shore excursions we can book with Princess? Starts in Seattle then stops in Ketchikan,Juneau, Skagway, Victoria, and back to Seattle with 8 hours to spend before our flight home. Tavelling with elderly parents so can't do the more adventurous ideas(like kayaking).

Read my report titled, 'Tours of Alaska's Inside passage" just a few posts down from yours. What we did does not require a lot of physical activity, the most phycical is climbing into and out of the helicopter and seaplane.

Of course in Victoria, Burchart Gardens is a must!

Skip the cruise shore excursion for the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau. When my husband and I were there last August we hopped a bus right at the pier for $20 round trip (for both of us). I can't remember what the cruise line was charging but it was more expensive. When you get to the glacier, all of their paths are paved, so family members who might use a walker or n a wheelchair can get more easily up and down the hill.

Syn, is the walk to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center very steep? That place looked like a great option but I wondered about that particular question. Thanks for your help.

At the Mendenhall Visitor center there is a ramp and stairs up to the front, but an elevator at the side. The Photo Point trail isn't far either, you could take a look and judge when you get there. Shuttle bus tickets from the dock are now $12 round trip pp. But look over your shore excursion list and narrow down your interests, there are many many wonderful Alaska tours to consider.
