I need some advice. I'll be on CruiseWest this summer on a wilderness inside passage cruise. I'll spend time in Juneau-and drive out to Mendelhall glacier, Tracy Arm, Frederick Sound, Glacier Bay NP, Icy Strait, Sikta, and Elfin Cove. I plan to arrive a couple of days early to go to Haines and Skagway and go to Ketchikan on the tailend of the trip. Should I schedule a flight out to another glacier area? If so, should this be a heliocopter or fixed wing craft. Thanks for your advice!

I would go with a glacier helicopter landing, you don't need scenic flightseeing that doesn't land with all your glacier viewing on this trip.

Juneau, Coastal will probably be your cheapest. Also look at TEMSCO out of Skagway.

Thanks again for the recommendation. I've been cking out the websites today, and I think I plan to do this while I'm in Skagway. Your experience and helpfulness, budgetqueen, has been wonderful! I'm a planner and organizer, but it's hard when you are completely in the dark about a new place. You are definitely helping my 1st visit to AK take shape! YAHOO!
